KUWAIT CITY, Dec 29: Statistics issued by the Arab League and published by the Mauritian News Agency revealed that Kuwait is the third richest Arab state, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
According to the report, a persons’ average income in Kuwait is US $43,046 per annum for a population of 3.34 million. Qatar occupied the first spot, with an average individual annual income of US $70,651 and a population of only 1.448 million. The UAE emerged as the second richest Arab state, with an annual average income of US $52,574 and a population of 4.76 million.
Bahrain occupied the fourth position, with an average individual annual income of US $21,675 and a population of 1.123 million. Oman and Saudi Arabia took the fifth and sixth spots respectively with the former having an annual average income of US $20,908 for a population of 2.80 million and the latter boasting of an annual average income of US $18,980 for a population of 24.8 million people.
On the other hand, Libya came in seventh with an annual individual average income of US $10,519 and a population of 7.2 followed by Lebanon in eighth place, with an average individual annual income of US $7,479. These were succeeded by Algeria, Tunis, Jordan, Iraq, Morocco, Egypt, Syria and Sudan.
